Calendula

Suitable for: dry and mature skin

Ideal to hydrate dry skin and smooth wrinkles

Found in: Aloe Rose

Perfect for Skin Stages: 1, 3 and 4

Calendula: The hero ingredient you didn’t know your skin needed. It’s a genus of about 15 to 20 species of annual and perennial herbaceous plants in the daisy family “Asteraceae” that are often known as “Marigolds”. They are native to southwestern Asia, Western Europe, Macaronesia and the Mediterranean.

Calendula extract, which comes from the leaves, petals and seeds of the flower, is traditionally used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine but is also used in Western medicine to treat ulcers, prevent muscle spasms, reduce fevers, and more. Calendula extract hydrates the skin and locks in moisture to reduce dryness.

The nutrients found in calendula oil may slow premature ageing and wrinkles and will make your skin glow. In skin care, calendula treats everything from inflammation and dryness to sensitive skin. Dispense with Marigold washing-up gloves and bring in Marigold skincare!

Bakuchiol

Suitable for: dry, sensitive and mature skin

Ideal to brighten and revitalise tired-looking skin

Found in: Under The Sea, Under The Sea Plus+, The Bees Knees, The Bees Knees Plus+, Bold Gold, Bold Gold Plus+, Flower Power, Flower Power Plus+, Skin Shrooms, Skin Shrooms Plus+

Perfect for Skin Stages: 2, 3 and 4

Bakuchiol is one of the most exciting natural skincare ingredients around right now, and one of our favourite performance botanicals. The plant, Psoralea corylifolia, has been used in both traditional Chinese and Indian Ayurvedic medicines for centuries.

The plant has beautiful purple flowers and contains babchi seeds. Because of the way this botanical is purified, bakuchiol is extracted directly from the babchi seed and gives off a delicate fragrance. Bakuchiol contains “phyto-retinol”, a natural plant-based retinol alternative which is shown to have the same anti-ageing properties as retinol, without the risks of skin irritation associated with animal-derived or synthesised retinol.

It increases collagen levels in the skin and has strong anti-ageing properties. Another benefit of bakuchiol is that it helps reduce and control wrinkles, supporting healthy pigmentation for brighter, fresher skin. Yes, please!

Dandelion

Ideal for rebalancing the skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines and skin inflammation

Found in: Flower Power, Flower Power Plus+

Perfect for Skin Stages: 1, 2, 3 and 4

Taraxacum is a large genus of flowering plants in the family “Asteraceae”, consisting of the species commonly known as dandelions. They are native to Eurasia and North America and propagate as wildflowers. To us, they are the prettiest of flowers and they’re also super powerful.

Containing healing properties for the skin, hair and body, every part of the dandelion can be used in many different ways to help you be your most irresistible. Dandelion leaves are great for smoothies and salads, while their flowers, roots and sap are ideal for tea and topical application. Rich in antioxidants, dandelions have anti-ageing benefits for the skin.

The dandelion extract can help to nourish the skin by reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and by toning unbalanced skin. The plant contains detoxifying properties which rid the skin of toxins that clog pores and cause acne, as well as Vitamin C to speed up the body’s natural healing process and reduce the appearance of scars and skin inflammation. Who knew a small wildflower would be so impressive?
